In case you haven't heard the news, U.S. Olympian Deena Kastor (last seen running on the streets of Chicago during that blustery, wet, sloshy day for the Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle) has announced that she's going to compete in the 2009 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. This will be her first 26.2 mile race since that injury at mile three of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Marathon forced her to drop out. Kastor bought home a bronze medal in the marathon at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games and has her eyes set on competing in the 2012 London Olympic Marathon. She won the Chicago race back in 2005 in a time of 2:21:25 and I'm sure we can expect a great race from her again.
