Ed McMahon, famous sidekick to Johnny Carson (who died January 23, 2005), was on NBC's Tonight Show (for 30 years), died June 23rd at the age of 86.  He suffered from multiple health problems.

McMahon was active in other film and television projects before and after the Tonight Show.

Friends and family paid their last respects to Ed McMahon on Sunday in Los Angeles this past weekend, June 28th.  McMahon was not the only one to pass away last week, Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson were two of the seven.

There were approximately 200 guests who attended the memorial service for the longtime "Tonight Show" sidekick.  His funeral was held at the Church of the Hills at Forest Lawn Memorial Parks and Mortuaries in the Hollywood Hills.

Natalie Cole, Tony Danza, Joanna Carson (Johnny's widow) and Jimmy Kimmel were among the many celebrities in attendance.  McMahon's wife, Pamela, his children and grandchldren spoke at the service.

NBC wants to host a celebration of life for Ed McMahon.
