Hiring in Utah

After the In-N-Out Burger chain announced opening restaurants in Orem and Draper, UT, hundreds showed up at a Provo Marriott to apply for one of 150 positions.

The region expects the same turn out when interviews for the American Fork's In-N-Out Burger location are held the week before Thanksgiving.

Unemployment in Utah has been rising recently to 6.2 percent, compared to about 10 percent nationwide. The rate is expected to increase until the middle of 2010.

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for Utah also reported it received 10,706 bankruptcy petitions during the first nine months of 2009 -- a whopping 62 percent increase from the same nine month period a year ago.
