Okay, at what point do we stop giving her the benefit of the doubt and just give up on this sorry excuse for a candidacy?
Even the McCain campaign realizes the ridiculous lack of experience and substance which is why they are now not letting her out of their sight and into that of the news media at all.
Yesterday the McCain campaign told news organizations that while they are more than welcome to take photos and video of Sarah Palin meeting with world leaders on her trip to the United Nations, they will not be allowed in on the meetings themselves.
In fact, all that the entire news pool got that morning at Palin’s first trip to the UN this was 29 seconds of her talking to Afghan President Hamid Karzai.
Are they even serious? Take photos of Palin looking important meeting with top foreign officials but pay no heed to the fact that they are simply discussing the weather?
As you can imagine, the news networks were incredibly peeved that they don’t get to run footage of Palin making a fool of herself. All of the networks have voted to ban all of the glorifying photos and media of Palin from their telecasts and CNN pulled its TV crew altogether.
Following the backlash that they received, the campaign caved and let the reporters into her meetings.
The media has had little to no access to Palin in general while following her around on the campaign trail.
Governor Palin has yet to give a news conference in front of the traveling press corp. and has only two television interviews; one with ABC News and one with Fox News.
After a CBS reporter asked Palin a question about the AIG bailout during a campaign stop in Ohio, the reporter was told by the campaign that “questions weren’t allowed.”
This morning’s media fiasco comes on the heels of the McCain campaign pushing for tight restrictions on the candidates at the upcoming Vice Presidential debate to ensure that Palin inexperience and lack of substance is not TOO exploited at the event.
Enough of the niceties. Does anyone still think that this person can take on the nation’s top office if the unthinkable happens? John McCain and his campaign certainly don’t.
