Seeing the voter's resentment towards Caroline Kennedy, New York Democrats have backed off of their support of Caroline Kennedy which will force Governor David Paterson to appoint the much safer choice, New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, to the New York Senate seat being vacated by Hillary Clinton.
As I have been saying since Clinton was first being speculated for the Secretary of State position, Andrew Cuomo will be the next Junior Senator of New York. And now, despite the hype surrounding Kennedy, Andrew Cuomo is still going to be the next Junior Senator of New York.
The voters and television's talking heads have made their views quite clear and one can see the affect that it has had as supporting John F. Kennedy's daughter is no longer the "cool thing to do." WIth Governor Paterson having enough trouble with his new proposed 2009 budget that comes with nearly 90 new taxes and fees, the New York Governor will have to make the safe choice at the risk of losing anymore Albany "street cred" and appoint Andrew Cuomo.
Cuomo will not only certainly win his election for the seat in 2010 but will also be eliminated as a potential opponent to David Paterson in the same year.
