In an October 2008 survey, the National Restaurant Association asked more than 1,600 chefs about food trends. Their Top 10 Picks include local produce, organics, healthful kids’ meals and sustainable seafood.
Their other picks include bite-size desserts, new cuts of meat, kids’ vegetable/fruit side dishes, superfruits,
small plates/tapas/mezze/dim sum and artisan liquor.
As part of the Info 101 project, Restaurant and Food Examiners have hunted for restaurants that follow the top restaurant trends -- serving healthy foods and using local produce.
