Yum! Brands, parent company of KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and Long John Silver’s, has announced that its stores will voluntarily list calorie counts on the menu boards. The chains, which currently offer reduced-calorie "Better for You" menu options, also announced it would discontinue advertising its products on television programs specifically aimed at children under 12 years old.

Brands chief public affairs officer, called on “the U.S. Congress to enact federal legislation that would create uniform menu board guidelines for all who sell prepared food so there is a consistent way to educate the public about the nutritional value of the food they eat."
