Need an afternoon coffee break? From now through November 11, participating Dunkin’ Donuts will offer a small hot or iced latte for just 99 cents on any weekday between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.
In a press release, Frances Allen, Brand Marketing Officer for Dunkin’ Donuts said “Americans are facing more and more challenges every day, as the economy forces many hard-working people to make difficult choices to keep their spending down. Whether or not to treat yourself to an afternoon latte shouldn’t have to be one of them.”
In a similar “Dunkin’ Deal,” participating Dunkin’ Donuts will also offer a 99 cent Egg and Cheese Sandwich with the purchase of a medium or larger hot coffee through November 11
In August, the company launched DDSMART, a menu of food and beverage options with at least one of the following criteria: 25 percent fewer calories; 25 percent less sugar, fat, saturated fat or sodium or items that contain heathy ingredients.
The new menu includes a multigrain bagel with reduced-fat, flavored cream cheeses and a reduced-fat blueberry muffin plus the Turkey Sausage and Veggie flatbread sandwiches. The sandwiches both weigh in at under 300 calories, said spokesperson Toby Srebnik, who admitted the Turkey Sausage was his favorite. “You wouldn’t even know they are low fat.”
