Anyone who registers for the new tee time system at Metropolitan Golf Links before the end of October will be automatically entered into a drawing to win a pair of FootJoy golf shoes. Metropolitan golf links is a Johnny Miller-designed, links-style layout located right next to the Oakland International Airport in Alameda.
Metro has also been capitalizing on Harding Park's closure for the Presidents Cup by offering a discount to San Francisco Residents Card holders through the month of October. Depending on traffic, Metro is often a shorter drive than crossing town in San Francisco, and it is completely worth the trip. The layout is challenging for golfers of all abilities, but not so penal that beginners have to suffer through a round.
To be eligible to win the FootJoy shoes, all you have to do is register for Metropolitan's new tee-time system. You don't have to book a tee time, nor make a purchase of any kind. Metro is simply trying to increase registered users - and hopefully get a few of them to come play a round of golf.
