The Bay Club is one of Portland’s higher end fitness facilities that offer a range of services including group fitness, personal training, steam rooms and saunas, and massage.

Group classes, which are offered at least three times a day, include typical variations of cardio, step, indoor cycling, Pilates, and yoga. There are two unique classes that stand out at the Bay Club – Nia (Neuromuscular Integrative Action) and Tri-Fusion.

Tri-Fusion is a combination of activities integrated like a triathlon – 20 minutes of strength training, 20 minutes of cycling, and 20 minutes of plyometrics – and you will definitely feel the burn. The instructor also offers the option to stay on the bike for the full 60 minutes.

Pros: Spinning classes and equipment, clean, well-lit facility, experienced fitness staff, free parking, two studios, high quality and ample equipment, TVs on cardio machines.

Possible cons: Cost, no family membership, no pool, most evenings there are only two classes offered – one in each studio, so you only have two options in one time slot.  During my visit, the front desk staff was knowledgeable, but definitely could have been more welcoming.
