Ride On, Take 2 and Singletrack Sunday: Two mountain biking events for the weekend of June 13

There are two repeat events scheduled for this weekend, June 13 and 14: Ride On Take Two at the Idaho Velodrome and Cycling Park (IVCP), and Singletrack Sunday, a SWIMBA group ride.

 

Ride On Take Two – Saturday, June 13
The original Ride On event was scheduled for May 2, but was cancelled because of record rainfall. Ride On Take 2 has been scheduled for Saturday, June 13. The schedule for the day will be:

8:00 - Registration
9:00 - 11:00 - 4X Race and Short Track X-Country Race
12:00 - 2:00 - Break for Eagle Fun Days Parade in Downtown Eagle
3:00 - 3:30 - Kids Race
4:00 - 5:00 - Race Awards and Raffle
5:00 - Dirt Jump Demonstration

Local bike shops have donated items for a raffle, including complete bikes from A-1 Cycles and Meridian Cycles. Demo bikes will be available from Yeti, Giant, and Scott.
Cost for racers will be $15 for USA Cycling registered racers. Non-licensed racers will be charged an additional $5 for a one-day license.

SWIMBA Southwest Idaho Mountain Biking Association Mountain Bike Rides in  Boise

Singletrack Sunday, SWIMBA group ride – Sunday, June 14
SWIMBA (Southwest Idaho Mountain Biking Association) will have two group rides leaving from the parking lot at Fort Boise / Military Reserve parks on Mountain Cove Rd. The first group (aimed at intermediate to advanced riders) will leave at 9:00 AM and will cover Military Reserve trails, Shane’s, Five Mile, Watchman, and Three Bears.

The second group will depart at 9:30 AM. This ride will be slower-paced and will be suited for beginner to intermediate riders. The route will include Military Reserve trails, Shane’s, and possibly Three Bears. Helmets and water are required. The two groups will meet forfFood and refreshments  following the rides.

SWIMBA hosted the same ride a few weeks ago and is repeating it due to popular demand.
