NAMI Ventura will hold its monthly general meeting on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 7:00 PM. Guest speaker is Gary Chang, Director of Legal Affairs Proxy Patients Foundation. His topic will be Special Needs Trusts, Who Will Care When You’re Not There. The meeting is open to the public and will be held at St. Columba’s Episcopal Church, 1251 Las Posas Road, Camarillo.

NAMI Ventura is also sponsoring two education programs for professionals. The Provider Education course begins September 16 and runs for 10 Wednesdays, from 6-9PM. For more information see the program flyer.

They also sponsor a Court Education Program on Mental Illness for legal professionals. Two sessions are offered the first will be held October 2 & 9 from 12-4 pm and the second is scheduled Nov. 6 & 13 from 12-4 PM. For more information see the class flyer.

NAMI West LA will hold An Evening of Conversation with Tom Wootton, author of The Bipolar Advantage. The general meeting will be held at Santa Monica Public Library (601 Santa Monica Blvd.)  on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. It is free and open to the public.
