Hurricane Ida's Forecast Track
Ida has regained hurricane status this evening in the Caribbean as it heads for the Gulf of Mexico. The National Hurricane Center's official forecast is beginning to narrow somewhat on the northern Gulf Coast and the west coast of Florida. South Florida is not under the cone as of the 10pm advisory. The system is expected to become extratropical and become absorbed in a cold front. This front is could cause Ida to make a hard right turn Tuesday into Wednesday, which is forecast to bring the storm toward the southeast.
