As Halloween creeps ever so close, and fall lays upon the shores of the Gulf, so too is it time for the annual eating of the fish at The John’s Pass Seafood Festival. This weekend, October 24 -25, everyone from ghosts and goblins to tourists and locals will be sliding into John’s Pass for a taste of the sea along Madeira Beach’s fishing village and boardwalk,
Fresh fish is the name of the game, and eating until your heart's content is what this fest is all about. The annual two-day event is Free, and open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
John’s Pass Village and Boardwalk have been welcoming families for more than quarter-century, dedicating the event and feelings of family, friends, and seafood to the Fishermen Lost at Sea.
Along with great, fresh seafood, family and friends, the day includes arts and crafts from local and regional artists, a street dance, fishing expo, children’s area, and the always welcoming Village shops.
Kids are encouraged to dress-for-Halloween-success, and invited to wear their costumes, then trick or treat throughout the festival. A costume contest on Saturday at 3 p.m. shows off all this year’s ghosts, ghouls, princesses, and racers, with all participants receiving a prize.
Parking is available from the 129th and 131st Avenue entrances to the Village. Free additional parking at the Madeira Beach Middle School - 591 Tom Stuart Causeway - with Free shuttle service to and from the festival.
So this weekend, take a step onto the Boardwalk, stroll hand-in-hand with someone you love, dress up the kids and share tricks and treats, and enjoy an abundance of fresh fish from our own shores, as we celebrate and remember those Fishermen Lost at Sea, with this year’s John’s Pass Seafood Festival.
