Jodar Winery - bold tastes without bombastic attitudes.

Establishing a winery is an equation of variables.
Jodar Winery melds the components of a sumptuous Sierra foothills location and respect for Mother Nature together with a passion for great wine making
The desire to taste the Jodar family’s devotion to the crush of the grape has resulted in a favorite day trip for Sacramentans for almost two decades. It is a short drive north into El Dorado County’s famed apple growing region to savor their award winning wines like Barbera, Sangiovese and Cab Franc
Just off Highway 50 in Camino, the placid wooded; countryside reflects the mood for the winery’s intimate tasting room overlooking Blakely Lake – easygoing without pretension. As proclaimed vintners extraordinaire by such prestigious wine shows as the San Francisco Chronicle, Tasters Guild International and Amenti del Vino, it would be understandable for this winery to gloat.
Instead, family and staff freely offer samples of their lush, big fruited product line. Coupled with enticing suggestions of food pairings they strive to educate the wine drinking public. Tang from the Meyer lemon infused Chardonnay compliments the spiciness of barbecue or paprika steeped cuisine. Grilled meats or tomato sauced entrees benefit from the deep cherry hits of the Barbera. For a truly orgasmic experience combine the pungency of bleu cheese or ginger with Jodar's Black Bear Port. Luckily, the release of the 2005 Port is scheduled for April 25 and 26th.
Events are plentiful at the winery throughout the year featuring music and food, wine and fabulous scenery.
Venturing to the Jodar Winery for both oenophiles and neophytes, presents the best of a Northern California vineyard experience.
