"Birds in Flight" banner by Joyce Kramer

Placerville has the happy distinction of sitting smack in the middle of some of the best wine country in all of Northern California.

From Fair Play where Perry Creek resides to Jodar of Camino and Madrona of Apple Hill the wines are all award winners and wine lovers' favorites.

Combine that with the talented creations by artists inspired by the hidden verdant valleys, quaint towns, mighty mountains vistas and river scenes and it was inevitable that an event begin.

From 6:00PM to 9:00PM Historic Main Street will be abuzz with activity as inside stores and businesses 38 wineries pour their best to be paired with a host of hors d’oeuvres.

While the tickets are $30.00 the live music from Aftershock and Bamboozled will be freely carried across the cool night air inviting everyone to dance.

Another Placerville hit is the auctioning of the Banners on Parade.  From fluttering butterflies to gold panning prospectors these one-of-a-kind banner are perfect as house or garden decor or a unique area gift - especially when wrapped around a bottle of El Dorado County wine.

Just a note - the holiday season is fast approaching.

Tickets can be purchased at  River City Bank, Tony Matthews, The Wine Smith in Placerville or by visiting www.placervilledowntown.com

Where else can you have a delightful day trip on a tank of gas or less?
