Why: To give the economy a different kind of stimulus,11 female PR agency
heads are providing a community service to small business start-ups whose owners have few dollars for promoting their new idea or company. Table-side review of promotional ideas and expert, individual counseling (usual price is $200 per hour) will be provided at a rate of $15 for 15 minutes.

Why: The 11 owners of successful public relations agencies who created PR Café usually represent large companies and well-funded entrepreneurs. However, recognizing that smaller start-ups with little funding are critical to reversing the current economic downturn, the consortium felt this was a way to give back to the community that has so successfully supported the PR industry
Barney’s Beanery was chosen as the site due to its unique history. During the Great Depression, Barney’s served up plates of chili beans (hence its name) to hungry workers and travelers to keep them going. It was all most customers could afford.
