The Audi Quattro! Way back in 1980, Audi had the foresight and vision to fit their rally car with the Quattro all-wheel drive system and well... the rest is history.
They had so much success on the rally race circuit that from that moment on, every successful rally car had to have an all-wheel drive system to be competitive. Rally races are held in harsh environments including snow covered and dirt mountain roads where good traction is a must. One slip of the wheel and the driver and navigator could be sent into a tree, or even worse careening over a cliff!
