Since the kids have started back to school, a quick and fun craft will break the monotony that already might be setting in from piles of homework.

These wrist cuffs, highlighted by "What are we doing today Mom?," can be fashioned for either gender. These aren't bracelets -- they're superhero cuffs (you know, like Wonder Woman or Superman).

The cuffs will possess whatever special powers your little one can come up with.

Mom Kristin cites her own instructions on making these cuffs, but I wanted to add a few tips.

As an easier solution to the brads she suggests, I used a hole punch to put holes in the cardboard, but not the felt. When I was gluing the felt onto the tissue roll, I just made sure not to glue over that hole completely. Then I could slide the string under the felt and thread it that way.

I was unsure how to best cut the felt to fit the paper roll precisely. Ours ended up being a little long on one end and a little short and wide on the other. A better way might be to draw the outline of the roll onto the felt before cutting.

Other layer options (which are linked in Kristin's blog) are paper and magazine strips.
