This blanket uses a tie-dye fabric on one side and a matching turquoise on
the other. (Lea Holland)

It seems it's pregnancy season. Since I've seen so many women pregnant this time of year, I thought a homemade baby gift would be appropriate.

A No Sew Fleece Blanket is the perfect gift for a mother-to-be who will be delivering in the fall.

Supplies:

  • 1 1/2 to 2 yards of fleece (times two, in two different patterns)
  • sharp scissors
  • pins

Directions:

  1. Choose your fleece material. I prefer to have a solid for one side and a pattern for the other side. You will need 1 1/2 to 2 yards of each pattern.
  2. Have the clerk at the store cut the fabric for you. It needs to be exactly the same size.
  3. Place the fabric on a large table and pin the two pieces of fabric together. The pins should be placed away from the edge of the material.
  4. Cut strips into the edges of the material. The strips should be about 3 inches long and 1 to 2 inches thick.
  5. Tie the two pieces of fabric together. The two pieces of fabric that were cut together are tied together. Do this around the entire piece of fabric. Take the pins out as you tie.
