Bookmarks for Mama and Grammy (Lea Holland)

Grandmothers and big sisters alike will appreciate a handmade foam bookmark.

Foam kits are available at Wal-Mart, Michael's and Hobby Lobby and other stores. In these kits, the accessories are stickers, making it easy for any age to create a masterpiece. There are kits that include letters, photos and 6-inch long, 4-inch wide foam boards. We have the tiki set.

Cut the foam board in half, lengthwise. Let your child choose the elements to place on the bookmark. She probably will need help removing the backing. Then let her stick it wherever she likes.

Be careful that the element is completely on the board. If it's hanging off, it will stick to the pages of the book!

Use a hole punch to put a hole in the top for a matching ribbon.
