Begawan Giri Estate
Outside of the cultural center of Ubud the Begawan Giri has been known for centuries as the “Wise Man’s Mountain” a sacred 20-acre piece of land tucked amid emerald hills, serene rivers, and lush forests. Twelve villas and residences were created by Architect Cheong Yew Kuan fuse Asian and European designs. Each villa was individually designed as luxurious tree houses containing authentic artifacts, furnishings and art.
A 24-hour personal butler is there to fulfill any request. The Source spa leads one up a steep stone staircase among landscaped water gardens, drawing from its surroundings to create its spa menu. Offering traditional Balinese treatments, the spa’s signature treatment is the Mandi Lulur. Known as the “royal wedding treatment”, this two-hour treatment offers a Balinese-style massage combined with a body mask that consists of rice flour, turmeric and jasmine. A gentle flower soak rinses the masks and leaves the body relaxed and fragrant.
The property offers intense yoga and energy work sessions conducted by trained masters.
