The Big Bang Theory put a neat little twist on the story of two geeky geniuses who live across the hallway from a cute blonde when they decided to inject the least likely of the three with a high dose of online gaming addiction.
Penny, the pretty girl from the Midwest who is just trying to make it in Hollywood, becomes addicted to Age of Conan after being shown how to bash on a few crocodiles by Leonard. An influx of low self-esteem leads Penny down the dark path of online game addiction where she experiences such frights as the massive drinking of Mountain Dew and convenience store dinners where the main course is a Twinkie.
And, for those of us geeks in the crowd, the witty dialogue exchanges were chock full of funny MMO references from saying "A-F-K" into your Ventrilo server to lamenting about the newbs that wanted to hit the elite dungeon without a tank in the party.
There was just one flaw: Age of Conan isn't a good enough game to lead anyone down the path of video game addiction, as evidenced by the recent server merges due to dwindling populations.
Hey, don't get me wrong, it can be quite entertaining to spend a couple of hours as a shirtless female with a nice-sized bosom beating on crocodiles along the beaches outside of Tortage. But it does grow old after a while, which proves that there's only so far you can go on virtual boobs alone.
