Titan Quest is a solid Diablo clone.

The coolest thing about Titan Quest and Titan Quest: Immortal Throne are the number of different fun and interesting builds that are possible. Because you can choose both a main and a secondary class from any of the 10 base classes, there are a lot of possibilities.

So, as we wait for Diablo III to cure our action-RPG needs, here are a few fun Titan Quest builds:

Titan Quest Build: The Regenerative Warrior

This Warrior/Dream build focuses on building up health regeneration to the point of being almost invincible. This build is very item-dependent rather than being skill-dependent. Your primary skill is Trance of Convalescence, which will add to your health regeneration per second. The rest of your skill choices are standard warrior skills enhanced by some of the cooler dream skills, like the Lucid Dream skill tree to build up base damage and Phantom Strike/Dream Stealer for kicking the crap out of a group of mobs.

The key to this build is farming the right relics and getting items that increase health regeneration percentage or health regeneration per second. The Viny Growth relics that drop in Act 3 and Act 4 are very important to add to your regeneration per second, and the Ankh of Isis relics found in Act 2 are perfect additions to rings and amulets because they increase your regeneration percentage.

In addition to those relics, you are going to want the Onager, which is an ax that adds 22 to health regeneration per second, and/or Persephone's Caress, which adds a whopping 50 to health regeneration per second. Onager's damage is rather light for Legendary mode, so you are really going to want Persephone's Caress before advancing too far. With these weapons and plenty of the right relics, it is possible to regenerate up to 600 hit points per second or more, which is enough to make you almost invincible.

Titan Quest Build: The Life Stealer

There are a number of ways to create a life-sapping warrior, the most popular of which are the Spirit/Dream and Spirit/Warrior combos. The key to building a warrior capable of surviving by stealing the life force of their enemy is the Death Chill series of skills, which weakens the defense of anything around you to life drains.

The two keys to this build are acquiring items that convert a percentage of damage to health, building up a fast attack speed so that you are constantly getting health back, and building up stun resistance to the point of being unstunnable. For the life stealing warrior, being stunned is death.

The Spirit/Dream route excels at getting the most out of your life stealing by reducing resistances even further through the Trance of Wrath aura. The ability to add to base damage, vitality damage and attack speed through the Lucid Dream skill tree also helps. Combine this with Phantom Strike/Dream Stealer and you have a warrior who can suck both health and mana from their enemies.

The Spirit/Warrior route excels at pure melee damage and combat speed through the Onslaught skill tree. This version of the Life Stealer attacks fast and hits hard. While not quite as versatile as the Spirit/Dream combo, it tends to have a little bit better survivability through more hit points and better defense skills.

Titan Quest Build: The Reflector

Rounding out our interesting warriors is the reflector, which reflects the damage done to it back onto its enemies. The Defense/Dream build makes an excellent reflector because Dream gives access to the Trance of Empathy aura that reflects damage and Defense gives the build Defiance, which also reflect damage. On a character wit items giving 4 to all skills, this translates to 80% reflection that is always on and an additional 80% that can be on roughly half the time. That's 160% of all damage being reflected back, which is one of the most hilarious ways of taking down mobs.

Defense also gives this character some good defensive skills, and between the Adrenaline line, the Colossus form and some of the Dream skills, the Reflector can also dish out some good damage. This build also gives a lot of leeway on what items to use, though health items will be particularly useful and a club always goes well with a Defense build.

Titan Quest Build: The Auramancer

This Dream/Earth build can actually go both the melee route and the magic route. The idea is to max out Aura of Wrath, the Ring of Flame series, Earth Enchantment and Volatility. This combination creates an aura of damage powerful enough that even during mid-late game most mobs will die by simply assuming stone form and letting the aura kill them. And most of the Normal level can be finished simply by running past mobs and letting the aura kill them as you pass by.

Going the melee route will give the character an extra bit of defense. And with a fire-based weapon, the character can dish out some good damage in addition to the auras. For those going the magic route, defense may become an issue, but leveling up the Core Dweller can help keep mobs off your character.

Either way, the build is both skill-heavy and item-heavy as you will want as many Fire Damage items as possible to boost the power of your auras. This character is very powerful early-mid game, but can be a little challenging in Legend mode when the auras take longer to kill mobs.
