Wii Fit Maintenance - Clean your balance board regularly
Remember to clean your
balance board regularly.

The Wii Fit balance board is one of the most sophisticated controllers ever built for a video game console. The electronics inside allow it to sense weight and pressure applied to the top of the balance board.

Since the balance board is designed to be stood upon while performing different activities, it is important to follow a certain set of guidelines when using the balance board. Cleaning the balance board is also very important both in maintaining the life of the balance board and guarding your own health.

Follow the 6 Rules of Caring For Your Wii Fit Balance Board

  1. You should always go barefooted when using the balance board.
  2. You should never jump on the balance board for any reason.
  3. Only one person should get on the balance board at the same time.
  4. You should always ensure that there is plenty of room around the balance board to perform different activities.
  5. The balance board should always rest on a flat surface.
  6. Avoid drinking liquids while on or near the balance board. Liquid spilling on the balance board can cause it to cease functioning.

Clean the Balance Board on a Regular Basis

Because the balance board should be used with bare feet, it is very important to clean the balance board on a regular basis, especially if more than one person in the family is using the balance board. Not only will the balance board attract dirt and grime, it will also attract germs and bacteria.

You should clean the balance board by spraying a disinfectant like Lysol onto a lint-free cloth and using the cloth to wipe down the balance board. You should never spray any liquid directly on the balance board. Doing so can cause the electronics inside the balance board to fail and malfunction.
