You can even watch YouTube videos on the Wii's Internet Channel
Get YouTube on your Wii

If there is one must-have Wii Channel, it's the Internet Channel. Well, perhaps it is not "must have," but it's pretty cool. Powered by the Opera browser, the Internet Channel will only set you back 500 Wii points, which is the equivalent of five dollars. In return, you will be able to browse the web on your television.

You can catch up on the news, browse your favorite blogs, even read this article, all from the comfort of your couch. Using the Wiimote, you can scroll through a website by holding down the B button and dragging the page around the screen. You can even zoom in to make the page easier to read.

A Full, Rich Internet Experience

The Opera browser supports Adobe Flash and JavaScript, so you will be able to enjoy most websites. This includes those with rich content like MySpace or Facebook. You can even use many Facebook applications, though not all will work in the Wii's browser.

The Internet Channel even supports widgets, so you can even play web-based games or enjoy some of the advanced features of your favorite blogs.

YouTube on the Wii

One great reason to purchase the Internet Channel is YouTube. Do you think watching YouTube videos on your computer is cool? Try watching them on your wide screen television.

While you won't be able to watch them in high-def -- at least, not yet -- you will be able to experience them from the comfort of your couch. You can even sign into your YouTube account and get easy access to your favorite videos.
