Getting alternative colored bowling balls is just one of many Wii Sports cheats and tips.

It has been almost two years since the Nintendo Wii's release, and Wii Sports has become synonymous with the popular game console. Originally intended as more of a demonstration of the Wii's capabilities rather than a full-fledged game, Wii Sports is still one of the most played titles for the console.

With scaled down versions of baseball, golf, boxing and tennis, the bowling mini-game is the only game in Wii Sports with a full-featured feel to it. But that doesn't stop people from enjoying all of the games included in Wii Sports.

Wii Sports Baseball Cheats and Tips

  • While pitching, flick your wrist instead of doing a full throwing motion to throw a fastball.
  • Hold down the A and B buttons to throw a Splitter, which is a difficult pitch to hit.
  • Hold down the 2 button to throw the ball underhand.

Wii Sports Bowling Cheats and Tips

  • If you have trouble getting the ball to roll straight, try using an extra-slow motion and releasing the ball just before your hand is pointed straight down. Great for picking up that extra pin or going for the slow-motion strike.
  • You can change the color of the bowling ball by holding the D-pad in the following directions while the game is loading: up for blue, left for red, down for green or right for yellow.
  • Unlock a gold ball by getting to Expert level.

Wii Sports Boxing Cheats and Tips

  • Punch the air when your opponent is down to keep them down.
  • When you dodge a punch, the game goes into slow motion for a few seconds. This it the perfect time to throw your own punch.
  • Achieve expert level to get a pair of silver boxing gloves.

Wii Sports Golf Cheats and Tips

  • Hold down the 2 button at the course selection screen to disable the map, power meter and wind speed indicator.

Wii Sports Tennis Cheats and Tips

Wii Sports cheats - Tennis.
  • Hold down the 2 button at the warning screen while loading to play on a blue tennis court.
  • To do a super serve, hit the ball when it is at its highest point in the air.
  • At the player selection screen, you can let the computer control one of your players by clicking on your Mii and changing it to a question mark. You can even play against yourself by clicking on the opponent Miis and changing them to your Mii.

Wii Sports Easter Egg -- The 91 Pin Strike

In the Power Throw training mode for Bowling, it is possible to get all 91 pins on the final throw by pointing your Mii to the side and moving it against the edge before rolling the ball. If done right, the ball will roll down the barrier and an explosion will knock down all the pins.
