Jason Krog is returning to Chicago.
The Atlanta Thrashers assigned the forward to back to the Chicago Wolves on Sunday.
The 34-year-old Krog was recalled from Atlanta’s top farm team earlier in the week when the club announced that captain Ilya Kovalchuk was sidelined three-to-five weeks with a cracked bone in his right foot.
Krog was a healthy scratch in both of the Thrashers’ games this week.
The 34-year-old Krog is the captain of the Wolves. He recorded seven points (one goal and six assists) with Chicago this season.
A native of British Columbia, Krog has amassed 59 points (22 goals and 37 assists) in 202 career NHL games with four teams, including four points (one goal and three assists) during his previous stint with the Thrashers in the 2006-07 campaign.
