The event was designed to raise money for the Victory Junction Gang Camp and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Performers who appeared included Dierks Bentley, Aaron Tippin and Danielle Peck, along with NASCAR drivers Michael Waltrip, Denny Hamlin and, of course, Dale Earnhardt Jr. There was also an auction that included items such as autographed t-shirts and CDs, a Sam Bass signature guitar featuring Johnny Cash and Dale Earnhardt.
“The fun part for me,” Earnhardt Jr. said, “is this is the first interaction with the race fans in several months. They’ll tell you about how excited they are about the season, how they want you to have a good year and how they met you last year.
“It sort of gets you back into the feeling of going back to the race track,” he added.” Getting excited about going back.”
