Reigning NASCAR Truck Series champion Johnny Benson Jr. has signed with Red Horse Racing for 2009.

The 45-year-old Benson will drive the No. 1 Toyota Tundra and be teammate to David Starr. Benson announced his intentions to leave Bill Davis Racing earlier this year. He won the Series championship by seven points over Ron Hornaday.

Founded in 2005, Red Horse Racing is co-owned by former crew chief turned TV analyst Jeff Hammond.
