There will be no testing at any track where NASCAR sanctions one of its top three series in 2009.
NASCAR officials informed teams of the move Friday morning at Homestead-Miami Speedway, site of this weekend's final event.
The suspension of testing will include the traditional testing at Daytona International Speedway in January where teams prepare for the season opening Daytona 500.
The move was widely anticipated as a cost-cutting measure by the sanctioning body.
