As a writer, my in box normally gets anywhere from 6-8 requests for reviews per day. I pull no punches. I will never trash a product, service or site, but will speak the truth.

I recently got an email from a developer touting a new firefox extension that will allow you to put your favorite picture (either on your pc or from the web) as the background theme for Firefox.

It is in direct competion to the tool that comes with Firefox, called "personas" which gives you choices of themes. Like Firefox, and keeping with the open source attitude, it is also free.

It is called Canvas, and it is available from BrandThunder. In testing, the install was quick and simply required a restart of the browser to complete the install. There appears to be no incompatabilities with Vista, nor any of the installed tool bars on the writers PC. Kevin Dwinell of BrandThunder had this one comment; "We do set Yahoo! Search as the default and also include the Surf Canyon search extension..."

Again, that does not prove to have any issues with the OS or the browser it self. It works well and now, my beautiful daughter graces my browser rather than a stock photo.
