Apex Publishing, the innovative publisher behind such titles as THE APEX BOOK OF WORLD SF and the Stoker Award-nominated MAMA’S BOY collection, recently acquired Lavie Tidhar’s, the author of the linked-story collection HebrewPunk, novellas Cloud Permutations and Gorel & The Pot-Bellied God, short novel entitled AN OCCUPATION OF ANGELS, which is a blending of dark fantasy and religious mythology.

In AN OCCUPATION OF ANGELS Shadow Executive Killarney is a hired gun with the assigned task of slaying angels. After the assasination of the angel Raphael, Archangels begin to die around her, without her involvement, her mere presence seemingly enough to make way for their murders. While she knows she is not the killer, Killarney (and every other shadow organization) knows that they are somehow connected to her. This mystery takes her on a trip around the world and into the icy desert of Siberia where an experiment gone ar will end in a confrontation of angels, Nazis and God.

AN OCCUPATION OF ANGELS is scheduled for release in February, 2010 with pre-ordering available in late 2009. Lavie Tidhar has also co-authored, with Nir Yaniv, the short novel The Tel Aviv Dossier. Lavie has also edited the anthologies A Dick & Jane Primer for Adults and The Apex Book of World SF. He’s lived on three continents and one island-nation, and currently lives in South East Asia.
