Playful cups, koozies and napkins add great flair to your
Fourth of July party bar. Try these stadium cups from Swoozie's.

Benjamin Franklin once said, "There can't be good living where there is not good drinking." And who better to agree with this weekend than one of our own founding fathers of the United States? Be it beer and wine, or soda and lemonade, here are a few tricks to add some fireworks to your Fourth of July party bar.

Red, White and Blue
Working with the weekend's theme, designate a red, white and blue drink station with a few selections of red and white wine and a beverage bucket of assorted "blue" beers; (for example, Blue Moon, or Pabst Blue Ribbon). You can also offer a signature drink, such as an American Pie Cocktail or a kicked up version of an old favorite, such as this Tennessee Lemonade.

For the non-alcholic crew, mirror the same idea at an opposite drink station with an assortment of punches and spritzers. Try this Sparkling Sangria mocktail, and use a glass beverage dispenser with a spout to house this yummy Blueberry Lemonade.

At both stations, provide a grouping of dressed up water bottles by tying red, white and blue ribbons around the bottle's necks, or cut 3" strips of patriotic scrapbook paper and wrap around the the labels of each bottle.

To Have and to Hold
Make sure your bars are stocked with plenty of cups so your guests always have the opportunity to pour out their warm drink and start fresh with a new, or at least make a new drink if they have accidentally misplaced one. There are endless options for drinkware, and plastic is an excellent choice. Red or blue SOLO cups are always dependable, and many retailers offer stadium cups, or 4-packs of reasonably priced tumblers that can be decorated with permanent paint markers. Festive beer can holders ("koozies") make a great addition next to your beverage bucket.

Top It Off
Leave an assortment of playful garnishes and decorations at each drink station to add some flair to your guest's libations. Anything from crazy straws, to light-up stir sticks are all fair game, and don't underestimate the impact of an elegant (or sassy) cocktail napkin. Little dishes of cherries, lemons and blueberries can also be a fun twist to your signature drinks.
