No matter what you’re celebrating, party favors are a great way to add extra panache to your affair. They can be an excellent avenue to tie in the theme of your event, serve as a special memento from the evening, or display a gesture of thanks to your guests. From tiny trinkets to personal gifts, the possibilities are endless.

When choosing a party favor, remember to keep in mind your budget, color scheme and audience. The favor should also reflect the tone and message of your party. A commemorative token might be appropriate for an anniversary or milestone event, whereas a humorous accessory would be better suited for a casual gathering with friends.

Favors can also be edible. Candy that matches the theme of your party is a fun way to remember the occasion, as are cleverly-wrapped sweets or pastries. Pair these items with unique packaging and a tag with a corresponding sentiment, and you’ll be sure to leave a lasting impression with your guests.

If you’re looking to thank your guests individually, think of ways to personalize your gifts. Monogramming is a quick and easy way to personalize any item and make your favors truly one-of-a-kind. For a more distinct expression, pick a different favor for each of your guests that will evoke a memory or story the two of you have shared. A framed photograph with you and your guest, or a favorite bottle of wine is a special way to express your gesture.

For larger parties, pick a favor that will work for all. Create a CD of party music; stock your bar area with personalized koozies; or leave a basket of disposable cameras for your guests to record their own memories.

In the end, remember that choosing a party favor should be fun – not stressful! Pick something that reflects you and your hosting style and find a way to relate it back to your party. With a little bit of thought and creativity, your guests will walk away with a fabulous memory from your special get together.
