The Supreme Court State Library in Lincoln, Nebraska is the temporary home of the traveling exhibit: Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War.
This is a terrific opportunity for a homeschool field trip to learn more about Abraham Lincoln and the history of the time period that was so divisive for Americans.
Slavery, secession and civil liberties
This exhibit gives a more in depth look at Abraham Lincoln's attempt to answer questions about the constitution which declared all men are created equal but the country was still grappling with the issues of slavery, secession and civil liberties.
Gettysburg Address
November 21, 2009 at 10:00 there will be a reenactment of the Gettysburg Address in the rotunda of the State Capitol. This is free and open to the public. Complete with patriotic music and a color guard this is sure to be an inspiring and education event.
The Nebraska Supreme Court Library has further information regarding this exhibit.
