
The Miami Book Fair International passed the quarter century mark in 2008, and this year's edition is set for November 8-15, 2009 in downtown Miami. The eight-day fair features prize-winning, best selling and emerging authors from the US and around the world. The public is welcome to attend readings and discussions.
This year's line-up of 300+ authors includes:
Sherman Alexie,Margaret Atwood, Roy Blount, Jr., Robert Olen Butler, Meg Cabot, Alan Cheuse, Susie Essman, Mike Farrell, Al Gore, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Barbara Kingsolver, Jonathan Lethem, Peter Mayle, Jacquelyn Mitchard, Ralph Nader, Todd Oldham, Richard Powers, Francine Prose, Jeannette Walls and hundreds of others.
Confirmed Spanish-language authors include Roberto Ampuero, Juanita Castro, Boris Izaquirre, Edmundo Pad Soldan, Cristina Rivera Garza, Raul Rivero and others. The Congress of Authors begins on Sunday, Nov. 8 with the first Evenings With .... The Street Fair, running Nov. 14-16, hosts more than 250 publishers and booksellers who exhibit and sell their books. The Antiquarian Annex showcases rare books, signed first editions, original manuscripts and other collectibles.
