Top 10 Labor Day Destinations: Las Vegas tops 2009 Orbitz list

For the second year in a row, the Orbitz Insider Index reveals that Sin City is the top destination over Labor Day weekend (Sept. 4-7, 2009). And from now through Aug. 24, 2009, if you book a Las Vegas flight, hotel or package on Orbitz.com, you'll receive an Orbitz Vegas VIP Savings Pass. It features exclusive resort credits and discounts worth up to $500 at four top resorts: The Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino, Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, the Palms Casino Resort and Monte Carlo Resort & Casino.
Other top destinations for Labor Day weekend include New York and Chicago, both which offer a variety of end of summer outdoor activities. And even though the economy continues to struggle, travelers are flying far afield. The Orbitz Insider Index incudes two far flung spots in its list: Cancun and Honolulu. Paris, France made it to the Top Ten list this year, too. Here's the list in its entirety, including the average daily hotel rates, along with the 2008 hotel rates. Anaheim and Boston, which were on the Top Ten list in 2008, didn't make the cut this year:

- Paris, France - $164 (new this year)
