I just returned from two weeks in central Europe. As always, I do an inner cheer when I land safely at both my destination and again at home. I don't have a fear of flying, but there is a risk. This morning on Twitter, I learned about the most recent airline catastrophe. A missing Air France jet was "hit by electric fault" en route from Rio de Janeiro to Paris. Read more about it on CNN.

UPDATE #1: (June 1, 2009) Reuters reports Air France jet crashes into Atlantic with 228 aboard. Click here to see a video of a statement by the CEO of Air France.

UPDATE #2: (June 2, 2009) Reuters reports Ocean search for Air France jet continues.
