One of my Facebook friends announced that he spent 164 nights on the road in 96 different locations in 2008. That's a lot of sleepin' around. So of course I had to flip back through my calendar and see how I fared during the past year. I knew I was nowhere close to this avid/rabid travel journalist's impressive numbers, but I certainly felt like I was gone a lot.
It was more than I thought. Turns out that I spent 101 nights on three continents. So here are my Top Ten Beds of 2008 and yes, I slept in all of them during the past year. Keep in mind, it's not really just about the bed, although I do love Westin's Heavenly Beds the best. My top ten beds are the most memorable places where I put my head to the pillow for a good night's sleep. The list takes into account basic creature comforts, locale, view, amenities and anything else that comes into play when you're on the road.
God natt! Buenas nochas! Selemat malam! or Good night! in Norwegian, Spanish and Indonesian. And by the way, my bed at home is still the best.
