Still life at April Point Resort & Spa in B.C. Photo by Sue Frause.

I'm due for a week-long spa getaway. The last time I spent a week at a spa was a glorious one at Rancho La Puerta in Tecate, Mexico. It was wonderful, but like a lot of spas, the prices are going up, up and almost too far away. Plus, that was at least five years ago.

I spotted a great spa getaway to Lithuania, of all places. In fact I had to look at a map, since I've never been there. It's south of Latvia and also surrounded by Russia, Poland and Belarus. The western part is located on the Baltic Sea. The destination is the Regina Hotel in Druskininkai, located in southern Lithuania. The Regina is a modern three-star hotel located in the heart of the city, and just steps away from the Druskininkai SPA Center.

Nordic Saga is offering the All Inclusive Spa Indulgence in Lithuania. The eight days / seven nights package includes:

  • Round trip air from 10 U.S. cities
  • 7 nights at Hotel Regina in Druskininkai
  • Round trip transfer from Vilnius Airport to Druskininkai
  • Daily breakfast and dinner
  • 2 daily spa treatments
  • Hotel taxes and service charges

Prices start at $909 departing JFK on Finnair. Other departure cities include Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles, Portland OR, Seattle and San Francisco. Prices from the west coast cities are $1,219.
