Paris in the springtime. Photo by Sue Frause.

I love Paris in the springtime. Or any time of year. But spring really does it for me in one of my favorities cities in the world. Problem is, our dollar isn't doing much across the pond right now, so if you're gonna go -- start saving now.

Two years ago I spent a week in Paris with a friend. It was d'lovely. We stayed in the Marais district at the Hotel Bretonnerie. But I recently stumbled upon a really unique Parisian getaway, a houseboat in the heart of Saint Germain des Pres. It has two bedrooms, a large living room, open kitchen with dining room, bath and separate WC. The terraces have views of Paris and inside a view of the Seine and the Louvre from the living room. There's even a piano!

It's not cheap --around $704 a night. Oh well, I can dream, can't I?
