Eyes and ears are on Denver this week, as the Mile High City plays host to the Democratic National Convention.

A friend of mine who lives and works in downtown Denver says security is tight, with no parking on the streets surrounding his building. Could be because it's located near the Westin Tabor Center, where the Obama family and entourage are staying.

I was in Denver last year, attending a conference with my husband at the JW Marriott at Cherry Creek. It's a beautiful hotel, and if you like to shop, this is the place to be rather than smack downtown.

Number one on my list of things to see was the Denver Art Museum (DAM), located in the hub of the arts and cultural center of downtown Denver. The DAM commissioned architect Daniel Libeskind to design an expansion, which opened in October, 2006. It's stunning -- although some think not.
