I love it when a resto, hotel or store gives out a recipe for one of their signature items. Remember that urban myth about the Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip Cookies? If not, Google it, and in the meantime here's the recipe.
Well, The Farimont Hotel Vancouver is famous for its aptly named Our Famous Chocolate Nut Fudge. I love the hotel, whose lobby I call the living room of Vancouver.
And I love their fudge! So here's the recipe, perfect for holiday gift-giving.
Our Famous Chocolate Nut Fudge - The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver
Ingredients:
3/4 cup sweet condensed milk
1 1/4 cups dark semi-sweet chocolate
1 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
Heat milk, vanilla and chocolate in a double-boiler until melted. Stir in the nuts, pour into a greased pan and place in the refrigerator until firm. The pan should be approximately 16" x 8" and 2" deep. Cut into small squares, about 2" in size. Recipe should yield 32 pieces. Enjoy!
