Apple, in what may be hint toward the future of iPod accessories, has patented what appears to be an earphone with storage built in, Elctronista reports.
Stylized much like the Apple Bluetooth Headset that was discontinued some time back, it appears to have both a single ear (for mono audio, like as a Bluetooth headset) and dual ear (for stereo playback, like with an iPhone) capabilities via a add-on second earbud.
While this is nowhere near a confirmation or announcement of future plans of Apples, it does show what they are at least thinking about.
