OK, ok -- it's only a joke. But a clever listing for Barack Obama's seat in the U.S. Senate is visible -- for the time being -- on the ebay auction Website. Expect the listing to last only so long as it takes for the killjoy administrators to pull it down. (Or for Rod Blagojevich to realize that he's not going to be able to collect. Hey! Maybe it's not a joke.)

Government has always been for sale, but now you too can bid on your very own piece of our ruling institutions! Or, if you can't bid on it, you can at least take a peek at the listing as it appeared.

Obama's Senate seat on ebay

The description says:

This auction is for one (1) senate seat for the State of Illinois.  This is a one of a kind opportunity to be your own boss and help make some pretty important decisisons.  The seat is in near mint condition, the last owner of this particular seat barely spent any time in it as he was busy tending to other business.  The seat has a natural wood finish, with lots of shine and gloss, it has no visable imperfections.  This auction will begin at .99 cents and also include free shipping to the highest bidder.  good luck! If there are any questions, I can be contacted discretly.  Happy bidding.
