Every first Thursday evening (starting around 5 PM), participating galleries in San Francisco open their doors to the public until late for special events and gallery openings.  This Thursday (TONIGHT) is no different and there will be an array of new exhibits and opening receptions to provide the creative stimulation that we all need.  The following is a list of galleries with special events/ opening receptions going on tonight.  Make it an evening--get your friends, grab some dinner, check out the galleries, and go out for drinks (not necessarily in that order).

1) Brian Gross Fine Art (fifth floor): New work by  Roy Thurston; work by Anna Valentina Murch

2) Gregory Lind Gallery (fifth floor): "Beacons, Floaters and Lost Objects," works by Sarah Walker.

3) Haines Gallery (fifth floor): "Gold Mountain," sculptures by Zhan Wang, "Library of Dust," large-scale photographs by David Maisel.

4) Mark Wolfe (suite 202): "Waiting for the Water," sculptures by Jeremy Mora.  

5) Robert Tat Gallery: "Pictoral Modernist," photographs by Karl Struss.

6) Steven Wolf Fine Arts (suite 411):  "Let's Pretend," works by Charles Fahlen.

Special Events:
Asian Art Museum: MATCHA (5-9 PM). Catch the Power and Glory: Court Arts of China's Ming Dynasty before it closes on September 21st.  Also sample unique teas from various Asian locales.
