James Frey, whose memoir "A Million Little Pieces" was exposed by The Smoking Gun to be a little more fiction than a whole lot of fact, is co-writing a teen series with novelist Jobie Hughes.
The first book of four in the teen-centric series is titled "I am Number Four" and tells the story about a group of alien teens who travel to Earth after their planet has been destroyed, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The book was originally submitted to several New York publishing houses by Frey and Hughes's literary agent Eric Simonoff. When pitching the book, Simonoff did not reveal who the authors were, but merely said it was a collaboration between an unnamed New York Times best-selling author and an up-and-coming writer, according to The New York Times.
According to the Times, DreamWorks Studios recently bought movie rights to the series, and "Transformers" director Michael Bay will produce and possibly direct the first installment.
