A young supermodel, Kim McDaniels, goes missing after a photo shoot in Hawaii. Thousands of miles away in Michigan, her parents receive an anonymous phone call from someone who says their daughter has fallen into bad hands, sending Mr. and Mrs. McDaniels into a frenzied search that takes them from Grand Rapids to Maui to find their daughter alive.
When they arrive in Maui, the McDanielses are stunned by the lackadaisical attitude by the local police who suggest Kim has disappeared of her own accord. The only person who is equally troubled by Kim's vanishing as the McDanielses is Benjamin Hawkins, an ex-detective-turned-crime reporter and best-selling author.
When the bodies of two other dead girls are found—one of them Kim's former roommate, Julia—Hawkins questions whether this is the work of a serial killer. Rushing to get to the McDanielses to tell them the news, Hawkins soon discovers they are nowhere to be found. They have vanished—just like their daughter.
What Hawkins does not know is that he has become a player in a psychotic man's twisted game. Henri Benoit, a true sociopath with the skills of a chameleon to change his appearance regardless of location, has unknowingly to Hawkins and the McDanielses left a trail of dead and mutilated young women for years. He drugs women, abducts them, assaults them, and finally murders them while videotaping the whole thing. But there is one more disturbing fact: Henri Benoit is a contracted killer and his employer—the Peepers—is a network of international business men and women with an insatiable appetite for snuff movies.
Will Hawkins find the McDanielses and their daughter before it is too late? James Patterson and Maxine Paetro's newest book "Swimsuit" (Little, Brown and Company) will give you the answers and the conclusion to a thrilling tale where the pursuit of the why is more important than the pursuit of the whodunit.
More info: "Swimsuit" will be available June 29 on Amazon, but it can be pre-ordered on the site.
