I was starting to wonder what it would take for Craigslist to get the message that allowing call girls to advertise through their website was not going to work.

Women were dying as a direct result of advertising there. Under aged girls were being exploited by their pimps as they advertised on Craigslist.

It was just a matter of time before more deaths took place. Craigslist is very good for finding apartments and commercial space. It's good for finding jobs. What it's not good for is allowing prostitutes and their Johns to hook up via Craigslist ads. Too dangerous. Good move, Craigslist!

The online classified ads site Craigslist will drop its "erotic services" category that critics called a front for prostitution, replacing it with an adult category to be monitored internally, government enforcers from three states said Wednesday.

Pressure to remove the category increased this spring after a Boston medical student was charged with killing a masseuse who authorities say he met through Craigslist.
